    Excellent NVR

I had the older model which was also excellent. This is a nice improvement. Countless amount of features and settings. A little bit of a learning curve but that's a plus not a minus. Running with 10TB WD Purple.

It doesn't assign IP addresses to Reolink cameras.

I bought this for use with mostly Reolink cameras and a wireless Amcrest doorbell. Just to make troubleshooting easier, I also bought an Annke camera with it.

I thought I was going to be able to get rid of my poe switch and plug directly into the NVR. That works and the NVR can detect the Reolink cameras. However, they end up with default randomized 192.168 IP addresses. It didn't do the DHCP and it didn't pass it through to my router. That's not sustainable as everything would have to be reconfigured after a power outage. My solution was to keep the cameras plugged into the existing POE switch and configure them by their existing router assigned IP addresses (set to always be the same). Another solution might have been to log into each camera and set a static IP addresses.

Once I put the cameras on the other side of the NVR, setup was done in minutes. Although, I wasted hours the day before when I couldn't figure out what was going on.

As far as using the NVR, it is pretty nice. It records the cameras and allows simultaneous watching of recorded streams if you want to watch several cameras at once. It also has a lock screen that shows a handful of live streams.

The NVR doesn't seem to allow direct viewing in the browser of your phone. I just get a black square where I would expect the stream to be. I haven't tried the guardian app yet. It didn't have very good reviews.

I'm satisfied so far. It works as well as my previous setup which was a PC with open source NVR software.

Works as expected. Very good upgrade from prior version. 20T of storage is great.
